Anders will play in a showcase game featuring "Yellowhammer" Univ. of Ala. Men's Ultimate and "Jojah Ultimate", Univ. of Ga. Men's Ultimate Team. Tuscaloosa, Ala. - University of Alabama Men's Ultimate "Yellow Hammer", will conclude Saturday's pool play in dramatic fashion. Beginning at 5:00 p.m. January 28, 2011 on the University of Alabama REC Center Field Complex event sponsor, Wingate By Wyndham - Tuscaloosa will feature legendary
University of Alabama Crimson Tide Football players, Derrick Oden,
Marvin Constant & Erik Anders matched up to play Ultimate Frisbee in a showcase game between, "Yellowhammer" University of Alabama Men's Ultimate and "Jojah Ultimate", University of Georgia. Men's Ultimate Team. High Level College Ultimate Players will have the chance to show these star athletes what the sport is all about. In a game where you can be quarterback, receiver and cornerback all in one point, former Crimson Tide stars are excited to be invited to participate in the event. "After watching some video on www.usaultimate.org of College Ultimate, I was amazed at the level of athleticism and strategy involved in the game. We hope that our involvement in this event will bring spectators in from the area who may not have heard of Ultimate Frisbee", said 1992 BCS
National Champion Linebacker, Derrick Oden.

Combining the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football, a game of Ultimate is played by two seven-player squads with a Frisbee-disc on a 120' x 40'yd playing field. The object of the game is to score by catching a pass in the opponent's end zone. A player must stop running while in possession of the disc, but may pivot and pass to any of the other receivers on the field. Ultimate is a transition game in which players move quickly from offense to defense
on turnovers that occur with a dropped pass, an interception, a pass out of bounds, or when a player is caught holding the disc for more than ten seconds. Ultimate is governed by Spirit of the Game(tm), a tradition of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the players rather than referees. Ultimate is played in more than 42 countries by hundreds of thousands of men and women, girls and boys. " After learning about the sport of Ultimate, I was excited to be asked to play in the showcase game. The Sprit if the Game concept is very different
than football and I think it really brings out the sportsmanship in the players. So now we'll see if Erik (Anders) and Derrick can cover me Saturday..." said former All-SEC Linebacker Marvin Constant.
